Young Werther joins Trusty Chords Music!

Melbourne’s fantastic singer songwriter ‘Young Werther’ (AKA Mick Young) has joined the growing stable of Trusty Chords Music.

Young Werther makes music that wraps you in its arms and slowly seeps into your skin. From the gently finger picked guitar to the poetic shivers of the vocals, his songs are glorious modern folk music for the soul, with a distinctive Australian bent.

His debut album ‘Knights of the Department Store’ will hit stores in March on Popboomerang Records, the first single – ‘Around The World’ was just released to radio this week and a full national tour will take place through April and May.

‘THESE HANDS COULD SEPARATE THE SKY’

We’re extremely proud to announce that ‘These Hands Could Separate The Sky’ have joined the Booking Agency arm of Trusty Chords Music.

These Hands Could Separate The Sky (THCSTS) are a four piece rock outfit from Melbourne. Their name may immediately purvey a band with delusions of self grandeur, to some. But THCSTS is a trickster like creature. This is a band that believes there is an innate, untapped ability within all of us, to transcend. Their performances document the desperate efforts of four men to access this realm through the haphazard medium of spine tingling, chest-cavity shaking post rock. Hold on to your undies people! At any live performance, watch as they ebb and flow to meditative melody, only to erupt in frantic ecstasy over bone crushing progressions of victory. Don’t be mistaken, though! THCSTS is often straight to the point, and when they‘re rocking, there’s nothing that can stop them. Not so sure? Get down to a show and see for yourself!

With past supports of international bands such as Mono (Japan), Minus The Bear (USA), Pelican (USA) and copious local shows behind them, THCSTS are now looking at building their profile in 2010; they’ve recently solidified their line by adding new drummer – Thomas Rowley- and they then plan on getting out on the road and touring their butts off!!!

They’re set for a big year!!

In a very special one off show, one of Melbourne’s favourite punk/hardcore bands AWAY FROM NOW are reforming for a show in acoustic mode.
Its all happening at Baby Black Espresso Bar in Bacchus Marsh. The bar is at 10 Church St, Bacchus Marsh. Call 03 5367 5156 to find out more details and I highly suggest that you get there early as we had to turn people away last week and we would not be surprised if this show is the same.
Support on the day will be BLACK IS THE COLOUR and the cost is $5.00!!!!!

Young Melbourne hipsters – THE BOO HOO HOOS – play Baby Black Espresso Bar again this week. Last time they hit the courtyard the show sold out in half an hour!!!! I suggest you get down to the bar pretty early to grab a decent table. If you haven’t seen these young guns before and your into the likes of The Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and The Strokes then THE BOO HOO HOOS are right down your alley, support on the day is Hollow Everdaze.

It all kicks off around 6pm and costs $5.00.
