The town of Bacchus Marsh is most famous for its Avenue of Honour and its Apple Orchards. However it is quickly becoming very well known in the Melbourne music scene for it’s thriving little music/art scene.

This is purely through the venue – Baby Black Espresso Bar. Situated fifty kilometers west of Melbourne in a ‘Heritage’ listed Victorian era cottage Baby Black Espresso Bar has quickly built up the reputation as the place to play and see intimate acoustic styled original music in western regional Victoria.

In it’s first twelve months of holding shows the venue has had such acts grace it’s famous courtyard and living room as – ARIA award winner Matt Walker, Canadian songstress Tracy McNeil, Brenden Welch, Young Werther, Jamie Hay, Tom Woodward, The Idle Hoes and Tonks Green.

Baby Black Espresso Bar is a one hundred capacity venue that holds shows every Saturday night throughout the year. From November to April (Warmer months) the venue has two acts in its courtyard every Saturday. During May to October (Cooler months) Baby Black Espresso Bar has more intimate ‘One artist’ residencies which last a whole month every Saturday night.
Patrons come to the bar knowing they will get to see the very best live music Melbourne has to offer (except it’s in a regional town) while they are sitting in a beautiful atmosphere, eating and drinking great food and local wines.
